A WYLD EXPEDITION demands a lot from its participants. It asks you to lead your group and to follow, to be resourceful and creative and to explore and discover. It requires you to learn and master new skills, to build your level of fitness and confidence, and to work together with your team. In return, it gives you the opportunity to see and do things that you once could only dream of. It offers you the chance to push your self to the limit, and bring home more than you left with.

KAYAK - HIKE - CLIMB - AN INTRODUCTION TO BACKCOUNTRY SKILLS
Taste Adventure - ropes, rocks, kayaking, hiking, primitive skills. Decide for yourself whether you love the ‘full meal’ or want to hone a skill for your next WYLD experience. Relish your three day kayak trip searching for animal prints and camping along the lakeshore.

Like every WYLD EXPEDITION, the team fully participates in every aspect of traveling and surviving their wilderness experience. This includes setting up and breaking down camp, planning/cooking meals, learning about your natural surroundings, and navigating/route finding.

ITINERARY

DAY 1
On your arrival in Campbell River your instructors and your fellow students meet you. From here the team drives to our Base Camp where you begin to know your group and your equipment. Your first night is spent camping on the shores of Upper Campbell Lake on the border of Strathcona Park.

DAY 2
Your first activity is high up in the trees on our famous high ropes challenge course.  In the afternoon you will head down to water and learn about sea kayaks strokes and rescues in preparation for the next days paddle.

DAY 3
Wake up and head to the bluffs for a morning of rock climbing. Here, you learn the basics of climbing; including knot tying, rope systems, belaying and rappelling. Most of all, you learn to trust yourself and your teammates as you help each other to succeed. Rock climbing is a unique experience that is intensely rewarding and absolutely unforgettable. After lunch pack your kayaks and begin your journey. The first days are spent learning the Backcountry Basics. These include outdoor cooking, campsite selection, shelter building, and minimum impact camping. Your comfort and confidence begins to build as you and your team tackle these daily challenges with increasing ease.

DAY 4
Take a side trip up through the pristine Tlools Valley and try to reach the spectacular Mia falls. Tlools is a wild and rugged old growth valley and home to abundant wildlife.

DAY 5-7
Pack your kayaks and begin to explore some more of Upper Campbell Lake. By now you have become a self-sufficient expedition group, and this final leg is your chance to fully manage the navigation, campsite selection/set-up, and meal planning/preparation. It is your opportunity to use everything you have learned to finish your journey, as a team. On your final night head back to base for a celebratory feast, and your final night as a group before heading home the next day.
