HOW HARD IS A WYLD COURSE?
While all of our courses will push you mentally and physically, they are aimed at novice participants. A good attitude and the desire to have fun will bring you a long way on the WYLD side. We have rated the different courses so that you can get an approximate idea of the physical nature of each one.

HOW SAFE ARE THE TRIPS?
Safety is the number one priority of every WYLD adventure and we pride ourselves on our enviable safety record. All of our staff is very experienced in the specialized areas that they teach and every one is certified in Wilderness First Aid.
WHERE ARE THE OTHER STUDENTS FROM?
Our students come from all over. Most participants come from British Columbia; however, we often have students from throughout the US and Europe, as well as the rest of Canada.
WHERE DO WE SLEEP?
All of our programs spend most of the time in the backcountry. Those nights will be spent in a tent or under the stars. Some of the courses do take advantage of our base, Strathcona Park Lodge, to shower, do laundry and resupply food.
WHICH COURSE SHOULD I TAKE?
All of our courses are designed to offer a wide variety of locations and outdoor activities. If you have any questions about the specific courses, don’t hesitate to call our office. Our staff would be happy to help you find the course that is right for you.
WHAT DO WE EAT ON A WYLD EXPEDITION?
Food is an important aspect of any expedition and therefore WYLD strives to provide healthy, nutritious foods that are simple and lightweight. The students plan and prepare all of the meals and are quite often amazed at the results. Some examples of the Backcountry fare that you might prepare are pasta dishes, burritos, pancakes and pizzas. Wherever possible, fresh fruit and vegetables are provided to ensure a well-balanced menu.
WHAT KIND OF EQUIPMENT DO I NEED TO BRING?
All of the major group and technical gear is provided by WYLD. Complete equipment lists, specific to each course, can be found on the Enroll page in the column to the right. |
